‘I first met Manoj when he was assigned to be my primary driver whilst working on a major movie in Rajasthan. Not only was I gifted with his safe and secure driving, but also his knowledge of the area and his consideration for my well-being at all times. In fact, he was so helpful that I often lost him to the leading stars of the film at the weekends when they were wanting his assistance whilst shopping!
‘Thanks largely to Manoj, my love of India soon developed and I travelled back with my nephew in 2016, and then again with my husband in 2022, on both occasions using Manoj’s private car service.
‘He will take you to places that you would NEVER see on the usual tourist routes. One day, we were driving past an elderly man with his cattle and my husband said he has always wanted to milk a buffalo. Two days later, Manoj had arranged this … and my husband was thrilled.
‘Another time we were driving past a farmer grinding flour and we asked Manoj to stop to take some photographs and we got to experience this ancient craft from the other side of the machine. Manoj also took us to a local ceramic artist’s studio where the artisans allowed us to throw some ceramic pots of our own.
‘We visited Karni Mata Temple, known as ‘The Temple of Rats’ [in Deshnoke, just south of Bikaner in Rajasthan]. Its resident rodents are considered holy in India and are treated with the utmost care by the temple’s Hindu devotees – I waited outside!
‘A highlight was a visit to Manoj’s own village and home where we met his delightful family and his charming wife prepared an authentic meal for us. Nothing was ever impossible or too much trouble and he is so very proud and knowledgeable of his country that he loves to share with you.

‘My 89-year-old aunt and I were escorted by Manoj around Delhi, Agra and Jaipur over a two-week period. We could not have asked for a better driver and very knowledgeable guide who took us to many of the famous sites as well as escorted us to vegetable and flower markets and local temples to show us the day-to-day life of Indian people.
He treated us like we were a part of his own family and was so helpful in escorting my aunt and making sure she was safe as well as helping us purchase gifts and souvenirs from local shops. He provided so much information on the daily lives and culture of local people as we travelled from one part of India to another. We hope to return to India some day and we will be sure to contact Manoj to help plan our next trip.
